Interesting stuff.
I have to admit I didn't get the idea at the first play, I got a little distracted by all those custom beats, rhythms and rolls, but after a couple of listens, I managed to follow "the line" of this track, was some sort of acquired taste (in a good sense). I liked all the experimentation with the drum patterns and the synth lines, the only thing I feel out of place with the rest is that "rubber bass" around 1:45.

SilverFoxJams responds:

Yeah, I put a handful of different beats in that, huh? XD I think I used 3 different kind of bass sounds, and those few variations of synths for the main melody, and the background melodies during the second variation... I created those from my VST. :)

Mastering it's a little messy indeed, but still an enjoyable piece.
Do I "smell" some FL-Slayer ?

DESHIEL responds:

yap don't have anything else other than fl slayer.

Very cool Industrial piece.
The right amount of distortion on voice and beats and nice synths.
The only thing a little out of place to me is the 8bit-esque arpeggio, the sound it's fine, but the volume takes the attention away from the vocals when together.
Solid work Lich.

Lich responds:

Cheers for the review!
I'm pretty addicted to designing Bleepy-bloop Saw/Virus-like Arp's so forgive the annoyance it may of presented haha. I'll take note of the volume issue with it though and will release a revised edition of the track with the fix in the future.

A strange (but interesting) combination of sounds and styles.
In a piece like this, with such variety of changes, you need better transitions to keep it smooth, otherwise, it seems you just jump from one part to another.
Around 1:25 (the part with the panned bass-ish and kick) and near the end, sounds are too clicky.
And as a side note, I think this would go better in the "experimental" or "fusion" genre.

MelkorMorgoth responds:

Wow! These were some of the most wonderfully constructive arranged letters i've ever read regarding my tunes.
The Jump was unplanned at first, but then it kind of grew on me. I'll call it "artist's intent" and "artistic freedom". And a little freedom doesn't hurt.
Which sounds exactly did you find too clicky? Probably the bass ostinato and the bass drum in the mini-bridge between contrasting parts.
You are absolutely right with the last sentence. Those genres could have been better, but i'm convinced that you can dance to this. (or maybe someone else)
Thank you for your review!! You just made me the happiest little Melkor or Morgoth. You can call me both or you can just call me al. Have a good day or whatever time it is where you are at. :)

Hello SilverFox.
I can hear you did a lot of work on this one, I like the beats and synth sounds, and I notice you have improved on your transitions, you are getting closer to the spot. In a piece as long as this you can take more advantage of passages using only synths, as the one close to the end, to give the rhythm a break, otherwise it feels like the percs are ruling all the time.
Because of it's nature, I think this piece will work better on the Experimental genre, even if it's based on a video game theme.

Keep creating and experimenting.

SilverFoxJams responds:

*nod* All right. More breaks away from the drums, that I can do. Thanks for listening. :D

Cool piece dude, and the story really sets the mood for it.
I know it's a tow part story, but I liked the second part the most, and I think it can stand alone.
Don't get me wrong the fist part it's great too, it's just a matter of taste.

Azhthar responds:

Thx a lot for the feedback! Actually I knew from the beginning that the contrasting parts might be a problem. Maybe a lot of people don´t listen to the end because of the rough start and maybe some other people are disappointed when the second part starts. That´s always a problem for soundtrackish music if you don´t see the moving pictures...

Even when I'm not familiar with the smash bros games music I like what I listened.
I can tell You did a lot of work here. Very good panning and mix, even when sometimes there are a lot of instruments at the same time, all sounds clear.
Getting into detail territory (bordering bitching land) I noticed some minor things that can be polished a bit more: The strings section (mids and lows) attack feels a little slow and the bass sounds a little opaque, but as I said are minor details.
Great work dude!

CeeeX responds:

Thanks for the well-built feedback, I'll definitely remember this the next time I'm going to put in the strings!

So far I like the idea and sounds of choice.
I hope this suggestions help to improve your track:
Some times the synths "crash" into each other and can't be distinguished clearly.
When the kick pounds "eats" the rest of the instruments.
A little more mids and a little less highs may help to the overall sound.

Sundans responds:

Do you mean the sidechaining? The levels decrease and increase based on the peaking of the kick, so it is supposed to do that. It makes room for the kick and also gives a feeling.

If not, I don't know. I think the kick sounds fine in terms of overall levels.

As for the mixing and mastering, I would say that the mids are what need to be dialed back. They are really cluttered due to all the wet reverb. But thank you so much for your feedback, it means a lot. :)

Sweet dude, when you say ambient you mean it.
This really brings imagery to my mind, something like a lake, fireflies, stuff like that.

Fubaka responds:

Glad you liked it!

Be sure to stick around for what's coming up next.

I like the vibe on this track, that crazy panning its almost psychedelic.
If you still have your files (its been a while) adding extra panning to the first part, and some variation to the main theme can make this piece better.

SilverFoxJams responds:

Hmm. It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a remastered version of this later! That would actually be cool to do.

Thanks for reviewing this! :D

There's so many things I don't understand , and I'm not sure if I want to.
