Hello mate. Good to know you are now making originals. Way to go !

There's some good ideas in here, but there's a lot to polish on the execution.
First thing I noticed it's the lack of a bass line, that's a must to include , specially if you want to keep your drum patterns simple. The main synth sound it's nice, but if that's you melody line I would recommend you a higher registry 1 octave up will work better. That will make it easier to distinguish between your melody and background synths.
I like your percussive synth backgrounds, those work nicely to make transitions while keeping rhythm. Watch your different instrument levels so every sound has it's place and none of them swallows any other. Panning will help if you need to have 2 different synths on the same plane. If you have a hard time doing so, some small frequency cuts will make your mixing a lot easier.

You are on the right way. Keep practicing and creating :)

DiamondEnderman responds:

Thank you for feedback! =D

Was a bit hard to appreciate at first because of the low volume.
That's easily fixed if you can add a dynamic compressor to your master audio channel.
Watch your mix, and instrument levels, most of the song it's dominated by the drums, even the melodies are eaten by them sometimes, which it's a shame because those are quite catchy.
Your background sounds are almost completely lost behind percussive sounds.
After the sudden jump on 3:20 the levels on each instrument are better, all different layers get easier to listen ; There's some minor dissonance between your chords and melodies.
The ending (4:10 and on) it's my favorite part, all sounds in place there.
A bass or any other instrument on the low spectrum could really help your piece to have a richer, fuller sound.
Pretty good composition with some minor mix/master issues.

DemonicMystiX responds:

The reason why my music sounded very quiet was because if I did add a compressor, the music would become distorted… I’m trying to fix that but I think it’s because I use FL Studio Mobile to create music and my phone cannot handle the file. Anyways, thank you very much for giving me tips to improve my use of dynamics, it’s one of my weak points in composing!

Nice and spooky !
Would work perfectly for an opening sequence of an indie horror game or movie.
Those fast (chromatic?) notes from 2:16 to 2:27 are the highlight of this piece.
Can't find anything out of place here ; there's some dissonance on the lows in some parts, but I assume it's intended to create tension and/or atmosphere.

Keep the good work mate.

Codefreq responds:

Thanks for the review! :) My intent with the fast notes you are referring to is to give the sense of a spider crawling around, adding to the spookiness.

I see you were able to find a better guitar sound. Way to go man !
The only thing wrong about this, it's there's too little of that rocking jam.
Looking forward to hear more like this.

Nice podcast mate. Best of luck with this project.

GroundsPatrol responds:

Appreciated LexRodent.

That deep voice of yours feels quite adequate for the source material.
I'm sure once you get a better mic the words will gain a lot of strength.

Pingu responds:

Thanks! I'm back home now so hopefully I'll have the new mic in the next few weeks.

Great retro sound mate.
It's like listening a mega man game OST.

Quite interesting and unique, gotta love that playful vibe.
It's also impressive considering the limitations you worked with.

SourJovis responds:

Thanks. I wasn't hindered too much by the limitations with this song.

Nice theme ! Would go perfectly paired with some Action / Sci-Fi imagery.
Good use of arpeggiators. The sliding bass before the changes could use a subtle percussive reinforcement, but other than that it's a solid piece.

Very nice background music. I like the action but still somewhat relaxing vibe it has.
This is the one I liked the most among the 4. Good composition, structure and sounds.
Idk if my headphones have too much bass, but, It seems like the low freqs may be taking too much space of your mix, drowning the mids a little. Just a minor detail.

AED-4 responds:

Thanks ^^! That relaxing but still actionful atmosphere was something I did try to accomplish. About the bass; I do tend to have a bad habit of overdoing the lows, so it probably is not just your headphones :P

There's so many things I don't understand , and I'm not sure if I want to.
